Stuart Hunter
Federal Council - Youth Representative
[email protected]Stuart Hunter for YGC Co-Chair
Hello YGs! I'm Stuart Hunter (he/him), and I'm running for Co-Chair of the Young Greens of Canada and thus Youth Representative on Federal Council. I held both these positions from 2018 to 2020, and I'm confident I remain the best choice for the job. This is a governance position, and I'm very good with rules, procedures, documents, and all that kind of stuff. If elected, I will again bring a calming presence to Federal Council while putting pressure on it to actually follow our Green Rules.
Since joining the UVic Greens during the 2015 election, I have volunteered with Green candidates in every BC and federal election, once even flying to Guelph. Over the course of my previous term as Co-Chair, I served on the FC Governance, YGC Campaigns, YGC Engagement, and Leadership Contest Committees, and as chair of the YGC Governance Committee. After my term ended, I was asked to return to YGC Council in a non-voting role to contribute my knowledge and expertise in party governance.
A bit about me: I live in Victoria, BC on the land of the Lək̓ʷəŋən (Lekwungen) people (Songhees and Esquimalt Nations). I received my BA (Hons.) in French from UVic in 2019, I'm currently pursuing an MA in French, and I work as a research assistant.
pls make me ur first choice!
