(OTTAWA) – Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada (MP, Saanich-Gulf Islands), will attempt to attend six Canada Day events on Vancouver Island and across the southern Gulf Islands to mark Canada’s 150th.
Ms. May and newly elected BC Greens MLA Adam Olsen kick off their epic journey across the riding with breakfast and a Canada Day parade in Sidney, before jumping in a Maple Leaf-emblazoned water taxi for events on Salt Spring Island, Saturna and Pender islands. The duo caps off their day of Salish Sea island-hopping by taking in the Salt Spring Island Canada 150 fireworks display.
“I have never attended so many events on so many islands in a single day,” Ms. May said. “As part of Canada 150, I’m excited for the challenge of navigating our pristine coastal waters to celebrate Canada Day with all my constituents.”
