Statement on the anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks

OTTAWA – Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada and MP for Saanich–Gulf Islands, issued the following statement to remember and honour those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001:

"Although it has been 13 years since the world witnessed the horrific attacks in New York that lead to the loss of over 3,000 people, including 26 Canadians - the effects are still being felt today.”

“I condemn all acts of violence and say to those who believe that terrorism is a justifiable way in which to bring about change – you are wrong."

“My heart goes out to the families of the victims who still deal with the pain of losing a loved one because of such a tragic and senseless act.”
