(OTTAWA) - Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada (Saanich – Gulf Islands), travels to PEI this coming Tuesday as part of her East Coast Tour.
Earlier this year, PEI residents elected their first Green MLA to the PEI Legislature – PEI Green Leader Peter Bevan-Baker for District 17.
“Peter is an example of what it means to be Green: hardworking, smart, kind, and committed to his constituents,” said Ms. May. “PEI residents now have an opportunity to make history again by sending a slate of Green MPs to Ottawa who will work for them. I commend our candidates for stepping up and enriching democracy in PEI: Lynne Lund for Malpeque, Rebecca Viau for Charlottetown, and Teresa Doyle for Cardigan.”
Elizabeth May, PEI candidates, and Peter Bevan-Baker will host two events in Charlottetown: a ‘Rally in the Garden’ which supports a local food bank and a Green Party Social at the Charlottetown Legion.
“I’m looking forward to meeting with PEI residents to discuss the Green Party’s plan for a Canada that works together,” concluded Ms. May.
