Green Party Statement on Remembrance Day

OTTAWA –Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada and MP (Saanich–Gulf Islands), recognized the incredible contributions made by Canadian veterans:

“Canadians across the country gather together today to lay wreaths and wear poppies to express our gratitude to veterans. It’s important to remember their selfless commitment to defend the values that Canadians cherish.

“Many generations have gone to war. Today, there are approximately 75,900 Canadian veterans from the Second World War in Canada. We must learn from their stories and honour their dedication towards enduring peace.

“Today, and always, lest we forget.”
