(OTTAWA) July 1, 2016 - Elizabeth May, Leader of the Green Party of Canada (MP, Saanich-Gulf Islands), released the following statement following reports of the murder of Hallel Yaffa Ariel:
"On behalf of the Green Party of Canada, we express our deep sympathy to the family and loved ones of Hallel Yaffa Ariel, a 13-year-old Israeli girl who was murdered in her sleep in her home in Kiryat Arba. The murder in a settlement in the West Bank must be condemned, and there can be no justification for such a terrible act. The way to peace can never be forged in the taking of the lives of children - whether Palestinian or Israeli."
